eSports a worldwide phenomenon

There is growing interest in eSports around the world. More and more competitions are being hosted, eSports teams are building exclusive headquarters, while arenas are also being built. The first big event in Italy, specifically focusing on e-sports, will take place at the end of March. The V4 Future Sports Festival, however, is not just about video games and gamers it is intended to introduce this form of sport to the big public.

More than just eSports events

The V4 Future Sports Festival is not just about video games, but in addition to the eSports programs, there is also an arena where you can try VR tools, simulators, and meet YouTubers and cosplayers. The competitions will be broadcast in five languages (Hungarian, Czech, Polish, Slovak, and English).

V4 Future Sports Festival: CS:GO

V4 Future Sports Festival is a tournament intended for members of the Visegrad Group, that is, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary. The players will face a pool of one million euros in games such as CS: GO, League of Legends, FIFA 18, or attention ... Clash Royale. The pot for Counter-Strike alone is 500,000 euros the popular teams like Virtus.Pro, FaZe Clan, HellRaisers, and mousesports were invited to the tournament.

The finals will take place between 23 and 25 March in Budapest. Before this, first teams had to go through online qualification. These took place in three regions - in Poland, Hungary and jointly for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Up to four invited teams for the Counter-Strike tournament will be joined by one team from Hungary, one from Poland and two from the combined region of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Qualifications were organized by the ESL. The qualifiers have ended recently, which brought forward eXtatus, Dark Tigers, Venatores and lastly the Hungarian qualifiers, GameAgents.

The Format

Eight participants will be divided into two groups with games on a circular system in the best-of-2 format. The playoffs will be held on two teams from each group. The winner will be determined in the single-elimination format with matches up to two wins and the final - up to three.

The crowd will be able to witness some of the best actions on the stage as the big teams will be there for the entertainment.

V4 Future Sports Festival CS: GO will be hosted by Paul "Redeye" Chaloner. The 46-year-old, 3-kid British host has been active in e-sports since 2002, where he has worked hard as a commentator and host. This is a great addition to the broadcasting team of the competition.

So, it looks like a great setup for one of the biggest eSports events of the year in Italy. Only time will tell who will come out on top.
