DreamLeague Season 9 odds
Who wins Dota 2 - DreamLeague Season 9?
DreamLeague Season 9
- Status: minor
- Location: Stockholm, Sweden
- Dates: March 21-25.
- Invited Teams: Team Secret, Team Liquid
- Qualification Teams: OG, Newbee, Team Empire, Fnatic, Immortals, paiN Gaming.
As in the previous season, DreamLeague did not hide the special attitude towards Europe. Three out of eight slots had teams from this region, but this time the organizers were not biased. Invitations were given on merit, and all other regions were given the opportunity to play with equal qualifications and even held open Qualifiers.
Lack of Top Teams
Even at the qualification stage, DreamLeague encountered a shortage of top teams. In the CIS regions, the veteran sides Virtus.pro and Natus Vincere refused to play in the qualifiers. In America, the qualification looked very poor: during the qualifiers, EG, CoL, and OpTic went to a major in Katowice, so they could not physically participate. Well, then this is minor, where other teams have a to prove themselves to the world.
The world is ready for DreamLeague
However, the English-speaking audience is watching DreamLeague not for the sake of spectacular matches, but for the sake of the show. A cozy studio environment in Sweden with memes and direct inclusions- that's what attracts the audience.
The final of the competition will take place between 21st to 25th March, which will bring together eight teams. The teams will be competing for a prize pool of 300,000 USD along with 300 Dota 2 Pro Circuit Points.
Of the eight participants, only two have received invitations - Team Liquid and Team Secret, the most fearless teams at the moment. The rest of the teams have secured their spot through qualifiers that took place in Commonwealth of Independent States, Southeast Asia, China, North America and South America.
The previous edition was won by Team Secret, who in the last match passed Team Liquid by 2-1.
Title of Newbee?
Newbee won the Chinese qualification for the ninth season of DreamLeague. In the final of the selections for the minor, the team beat Vici Gaming with a score 2-0.
In the first round, the runner-ups of the TI7 defeated Keen Gaming. The series ended with the same result.
This is a great opportunity for the side to get some points on the board. The side has a habit of winning the minor competitions of the 2017-2018 Dota 2 Pro Circuit. They won the Perfect World Masters and ESL One Genting 2018. They are currently at 5th place with 1725 points. This is a great opportunity for the runner-ups of TI7 to secure 300 points.
Or it will be Liquid that will take the redemption of the defeat at the ESL Genting Final. Or maybe the Fnatic side might just sneak in and take the title as the side was so close to lifting the ESL Katowice title a few days ago.
Monster Energy DreamHack Studios are all set to host the top teams from the competitive Dota 2 circuit and will surely deliver some of the spectacular matches of the season.
