Egypt World Cup 2018
Egypt at World Cup 2018: Stage of Elimination
Egypt Top Team Goalscorer
Finally: Egyptians back to Mundial! Egypt's team defeated the Republic of Congo's selection of 2: 1 at the Borg El Arab Stadium and secured the World Cup in Russia in 2018. The hero of the triumph was Liverpool's Mohammed Salah who scored both goals for the winners. He first brought them in the lead in the 63rd minute, but Congo reached the equalizer in the 88th minute goal of Buka Mutua, defender from Dijon. However, Salah has dramatically scored in 95th minute, and the celebration in Egypt could begin.
This is only the third time that the most populous and most ambitious Arab country will participate in the biggest national competition, and the last time they played was in Mundial in Italy in 1990. Since then, the Egyptians dominated football competitions in the Black Continent, even winning the African Cup of Nations three times in a row, but they only secured a new show at the World Cup now. Egyptians are the most successful nation of African football, with 7 continental titles, including three consecutive 2006-2010. Despite this, they did not manage to qualify for the World Cup. The Revolution 2011 completely disrupted football in the most populous Arab country, and after major problems, the announcement of return to the scene had been placed in the AFCON final at the beginning of this year. Egypt has qualified for the FIFA World Cup three times: in 1934, in 1990 and for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Egypt was the first African country to qualify for the World Cup and lost to Hungary 4–2 in their first and only match in 1934. They only scored one goal in the 1990 World Cup, scored by Magdi Abdelghani, to give the Egyptians their first points of the tournament.
Head coach of the Egyptian national team is Argentinean Hector Cúper. Most of the players play in the football leagues in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Their goalkeeper is a truly legend. El Hadari is 44 years old, but he does not intend to retire, especially after placement to the World Cup. If he play at least a minute in Russia, he would surpassed the legendary Colombian Farid Mondragonam from 45 years old, who in Brazil became the oldest participant in the FIFA World Cup of football in 2014.
The biggest star and the most famous name in the team is Liverpool’s player Mohammed Salah. There are few more players who play in English leagues. Ahmed El Mohamedi plays for Aston Villa in England Championship, Ahmed Hegazi plays for West Bromwich Albion, Ramadan Sobhi from Stoke City, Mohamed Elneny who besides Mohammed Salah, is the second most famous player and player from whom everybody expects a lot, he plays for Arsenal, Sam Morsy from Wigan Athletic. Kouka who plays for Braga and Omar Gaber from Basel complete the list of the best players from Egypt. It's certainly not the whole roadster, but they are the most sound players who need to make a difference on the pitch.
The placement of the Egyptian football team at the World Cup has caused an eruption of emotions in that country. Although they are outsiders, we are sure that in their game they will not lose passion and struggle at any moment.
