Clubs that could be relegated from the League-2 2018/19

League 2 is the fourth tier of English football. Every season the top three clubs from the table directly get promoted to the League 1 and another club gets promoted through play-offs. On the other hand, the bottom two clubs from the League 2 gets relegated to the National League, which is the highest level of National League System and fifth-tier of the overall English football league system. The relegated teams are replaced in League 2 by two clubs that get promotion from the National League.

In the season 2017/18, Chesterfield and Barnet were relegated from the League 2 and will be playing in the National League next season. Now, which clubs could get relegated in next season’s League 2?

Morecambe finished the 2017/18 League 2 season with same points as Barnet. Barnet got relegated but Morecambe survived because of the goal difference. Morecambe may have survived relegation last season but are the favorites to get demotion in the upcoming season.

Yeovil Town
Yeovil finished 19th on the table in 2017/18 League 2 season. They finished only two points above relegation. Their luck could run out in the upcoming season as they are expected to get relegated to the National League. They had a very poor defensive record and need to work on that if they wish to survive.

Macclesfield Town
Joining League Two in the upcoming season will be Macclesfield Town, who returned to the Football League after six years’ absence. They were the champions with a ten point gap in the National League but are still expected to get relegated from the 2018/19 season of League 2.

Tranmere Rovers
Tranmere Rovers finally got themselves promoted to the League 2 after they were relegated in 2015. They got their promotion through play-offs but their stay in the Football League may not be long as they are expected to go down again in the upcoming season.

Crawley Town
Crawley finished 14th in the league 2 table last season being 13 points above relegation. A few of their important players could leave the club very soon which is why according to the bookies they are one of the favorites to go down to the National League in the upcoming season.
