Who is Falkenbergs FF manager Hans Eklund?
Hans Eklund was born in Mönsterås, Sweden on the 16th of Apri,l 1969 and is the current manager of Falkenbergs FF. Eklund was previously a footballer playing in attack for Swedish clubs such as Östers IF, Helsingborgs IF and Mönsterås GIF.
In 1984, Eklund joined Mönsterås GIF where he made 43 appearances scoring 14 goals in his 2 years at the club. Östers IF then signed Eklund in 1987 where he played for 10 years making 259 appearances, scoring 115 goals and won the top goalscorer award in the 1992 Allsvenskan campaign. Eklund joined Swiss club Servette Genève for a short period in 1994 making only 7 appearances before rejoining Östers IF.
Chinese club Dalian Wanda signed Hans Eklund in 1998 where he scored 8 goals in 26 appearances for the side. Eklund joined Danish side Viborg FF and helped the club to a Danish Cup title in 2000 where he scored the only goal in a 1-0 win in the final. In 2000, Hans Eklund returned to Sweden to join Helsingborgs IF where he scored 23 goals in 79 competitive appearances for the club over the course of 3 years. Eklund also made 20 appearances for the Swedish U21’s side along with 7 appearances for the first team over the course of his career.
Hans Eklund started his managerial career at Helsingborgs IF as an assistant manager, however, made appearances on the touchline as caretaker manager in 2006. Eklund moved on to Viborg FF in 2007 but was fired in 2009 due to poor results. In 2010, Eklund joined Landskrona BoIS as an assistant manager where he worked for 2 years before his first stint at Falkenbergs FF. In his first season at Falkenbergs FF, Eklund won the 2013 Superettan which earned him a move to Kalmar FF before rejoining Falkenbergs FF 2 years later.
In 2016, Eklund and Falkenbergs FF were relegated after finishing in 16th place of the Allsvenskan. The club decided to stick with Eklund which saw them promoted 2 years later after a second-place finish. In their first season back in the Allsvenskan, Falkenbergs FF finished in 13th place assured their survival in the top division.
