Who is BK Häcken manager Andreas Alm?
Gert Andreas Alm was born in Gällivare, Sweden on the 19th of June, 1973 and is the current manager of BK Häcken. Before going into management, Alm was a footballer playing as a striker for Swedish clubs such as IFK Norrköping, AIK and Hammarby. He made 154 competitive appearances over the course of his career scoring 60 goals.
Andreas Alm started his playing career at IK City in 1980 where he played in the youth team for 8 years. In 1995, Alm joined Hammarby where he made 11 competitive appearances for the club scoring 1 goal. 3 years later, Kongsvinger signed Alm where he played for 1 year scoring 16 goals in 47 appearances for the club.
Alm joined AIK in 2000 where he made 44 competitive appearances scoring 20 goals in a successful 3-year stint at the club. In 2004, Andreas Alm signed for IFK Norrköping where he made 52 appearances in 1 season scoring 23 goals. Alm then joined Eskilstuna City for a season before retiring in 2007.
After Alm retired in 2007, he went straight into management at the same club: Eskilstuna City. 1 year later he joined AIK as an assistant manager where he climbed the ranks to become their first-team coach in 2011. As the assistant manager, Alm and head coach Mikael Stahre won the Allsvenskan and Svenska Cupen in their first season together, along with winning the Swedish Supercupen the following season. In his time as the first-team coach of AIK, he had 2 second-placed finishes in the Allsvenskan in both 2011 and 2013.
In 2016, Alm joined Danish side Vejle Boldklub where he finished in 9th place in his only season at the club. Andreas Alm announced he would be leaving Vejle Boldklub in May 2017 before joining current club BK Häcken a year later in December 2017. So far at the club, Alm has won the 2018-19 Swedish Cup along with a 5th placed finish and a 6th placed finish in his two full seasons at the club.
