Slovakia :

Slovakia is one of the newest national football teams in the world, having split from the Czechoslovakia national team after the dissolution of the unified state in 1993. Slovakia qualified for only two major national tournaments since their national team was formed, the 2010 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2016. Slovakia's traditional rival is the Czech Republic. Ján Kozák is the head coach of the national team of Slovakia. He failed to qualify Slovakia for the FIFA world cup 2018. The 33-year old ex-Liverpool centre-back Martin Škrtel is their team captain. Slovakia is ranked 29th in the FIFA world rankings.

Czech Republic :

The Czech Republic is also in this group. Their first international competition as the Czech Republic was the UEFA Euro 1996 after having split from the Czechoslovakia national team in 1993. In that tournament, they finished runners-up, and they have taken part in every European Championship since. But they only managed to take part in one FIFA World Cup (2006) since being reformed. Their legendary goalkeeper Petr. Cech retired from international duty in July 2016. FC Basel defender Marek Suchý is the team captain. Karel Jarolím took over the team as the head coach after the Euro 2016. They are ranked 43 in the FIFA world rankings.

Ukraine :

Ukraine played their first match against Hungary on 29 April 1992. The team's biggest success on the world stage was reaching the quarter-finals in the 2006 FIFA World Cup. That was also marked the team's debut in the finals of a major championship. Then they played in the Euro 2012 and the Euro 2016 as well. After losing all three games in the Euro 2016, their country legend Andriy Shevchenko took over the team as the head coach. But he failed to qualify Ukraine for the FIFA World Cup 2018. Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Ruslan Rotan is the team captain. Ukraine currently rank 35th in the FIFA world rankings.
