Nations League 2018-2019: Who wins League C Group 3?


UEFA Nations League will be played by senior men's national teams of the member associations of UEFA. There are 4 groups in League C. Where the group champions of each group in League C will be promoted to League B and the last ranked team in each group will be relegated to League D for the next UEFA Nations League in 2020-21.

The four teams of group 3 are not very high up at the FIFA world rankings. But they have a chance to prove their ability by winning the group and promote to the League B.


Slovenian national team has participated in three major football competitions, two of them being the World Cup. But they failed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2018. Slovenia hired Tomaž Kavčič as the head coach in December 2017. He is a former Slovenia player and Slovenia U-21 head coach. Slovenia has one of the best goalkeeper in the world, Athletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak. But their captain is Boštjan Cesar, who has 100caps for the national side. Slovenia is ranked 62nd in the FIFA world rankings.


Norway have participated three times in the FIFA World Cup, and once in the UEFA European Championship. Norway is also notable as the only national team that has never lost any of the matches it has played against Brazil. Norway became fourth in their group in the FIFA World Cup 2018 qualifiers and failed to qualify. Former Sweden head coach, Lars Lagerbäck is the current coach of Norway. Fulham midfielder Stefan Johansen is the captain of the side. They stand 57th in the FIFA world rankings.


Bulgaria played in the World Cup seven times, which is the highest among the other national sides of the group. The highest achievement was being fourth in the 1962 edition of the World Cup. They also played in the European Championships twice. Bulgaria was drawn into a very difficult group for the World Cup 2018 qualifiers. Even though they beat Sweden and Netherlands once, they failed to qualify for the World Cup. Ivelin Popov is the captain of the side. Petar Hubchev, a former Bulgarian player is the head coach of the team. Bulgaria are ranked 40th in the FIFA world rankings, which is the highest among the other teams of this group.


Cyprus have never reached the finals of either the European Championship or the World Cup. They were fifth in their qualifying group of FIFA World Cup 2018, resulting in failure to qualify. They will have to prove their ability in the UEFA Nations League as it will be the first-ever major tournament for Cyprus.  Former Israeli player Ran Ben Shimon is the current head coach of Cyprus. Cyprus are ranked very low in the FIFA world rankings being 92nd.
