Next Permanent Rochdale Manager
Rochdale’s Keith Hill’s position as manager could become under-fire, should results not change for the better in the near future.
Rochdale currently sits second-from-bottom in League One and had gone on a run of seven matches in the league without a win before last weekend’s victory against Northampton Town.
Keith Hill only signed a contract extension last summer to extend his second spell at the club until 2022, however, with the club facing relegation they could be forced to make a change.
Hill played for Dale during his playing days for the club, making over 150 appearances as a defender, and previously managed the side between 2006 and 2011.
During his first stint at Spotland, he guided the team to safety from exiting the football league soon after his arrival before he led them to two consecutive play-off campaigns.
He failed to secure promotion via that route, however, he then led his team to an automatic spot the following year and led them to a successful finish in League One.
He left Spotland to join Barnsley in the Championship for a year, between 2011-2012 and returned back to the Manchester-based club after he was sacked before the new year.
When he took over in January 2013, the club were back in League Two, however, he managed to lift back up a level.
It will remain to be seen if Hill stays at the club much longer as they have a tough run of matches to contest, although they do have to play an extra couple of matches more than anybody else due to clashes with Cup fixtures.
