SC Freiburg next manager after Christian Streich
Christian Streich - The loose tongue
Christian Streich's entire career is closely linked to the city of Freiburg. Trained in Lörrach and the Freiburg FC, he played for the latter two years in the then Oberliga in Baden-Württemberg. Afterwards he changed to the Stuttgarter Kickers, which were second class at that time. This was followed by the move to the second league club SC Freiburg, another large Freiburg football club. After one year, however, he went to FC 08 Homburg and then back to his youth club, Freiburg FC.
After he finished his career here without big cups, he changed as a coach to the city rival SC Freiburg and trained here the youth. After being promoted to co-coach of the men's team in 2007, he was appointed head coach of SC Freiburg in 2012, where he still trains the first team today. Christian Streich is best known for his political statements. He likes to comment on current political topics at press conferences - even without being asked. He is also distinguished by his pithy sayings in interviews. He replied at a press conference, referring to the necessary victory: "We don't have to do anything. The only thing we have to do is die." His job at SC Freiburg is generally regarded as relatively untouchable. Although he retired at the end of the 2014/15 season with Freiburg, he was allowed to continue as coach in the following season and thanked the team for this immediately with his promotion.
