The format of the upcoming event will be different as compared to the previous tournaments. One of the main highlights is that the World Group will take place at one location and in one week with eighteen teams are divided in six round-robin groups of three teams each. The winner of each group and the runners up will advance to the quarter finals. The series between the teams in this stage will be very interesting and it will consist of two singles and one doubles match.
In short, the matches are not like the best of series. In fact, it has reduced to best of 3 now. There is also a slight change in the name of event as it now is Davis Cup Finals because the World Group will now take place as one single tournament.
Teams from 18 countries will take part in the Finals. There will be 4 semifinalists of the previous edition and 2 wild card teams. There will also be 12 winners of a qualifier round, in February 2019.
A look At the Format of Davis Cup Finals
So the format of the event is very interesting as well. There will be Round Robin that will go from Monday to Thursday. In this round total 18 teams from six different groups will participate. On Friday, there will be quarterfinals. Semifinals and Final will be played on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
