UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifying
Group H

The Euro 2020 will be the 16th European Championship and it is scheduled to be held in 12 cities in 12 European countries from 12 June to 12 July 2020. This edition will be the first-time ever that VAR (Video Assistant Referee) will be used in a European Championship. The winner of the tournament earns the right to compete in FIFA Confederations Cup 2021. A total of 55-teams will be playing the qualifying round and 24 of them will be eligible to play in the finals. The teams have been divided into 10 groups of five or six teams in each of them.

Group H consists of the current World Champion, France. The teams in this group are:

France
Head coach: Didier Deschamps
Captain: Hugo Lloris

The current World Champions are undoubtedly the favorites to go through to the finals from this group. France has played in every Euro since 1992. France has one of the best squads in the world with a huge squad depth. They could go on to win the Euro after the World Cup, just like they did in 1998 and 2000. France failed to reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Nations League 2018/19 but that shouldn’t stop them from reaching the finals of Euro 2020.

Iceland

Captain: Aron Gunnarsson

Iceland is one of the fastest rising countries in world football right now. Their performance in the Euro 2016 shocked the world after they reached the quarter finals in their first ever appearance in European Championship. They even reached the World Cup finals in 2018. They were knocked out from the group stage but they had been praised for their performance. They could to go through to the finals again of the Euro 2020.

Turkey

Captain: Arda Turan

Turkey has played in 2 World Cups and 4 European Championships in their history. They reached the semi-finals in the Euro 2008 and the World Cup 2002. Turkey played in the League B of the UEFA Nations League 2018/19 but ended up being relegated after they finished last in their group. It led them to get dropped from the FIFA World Ranking to 39th.

Albania
Head coach: Christian Panucci
Captain: Mërgim Mavraj

Albania played their first every major tournament in the last edition of the Euro in 2016 where they were knocked out from the group stages. They played in the League C of the UEFA Nations League 2018/19 and finished 3rd in their group and avoided relegation. The national team will have to make their mark in this qualifiers to play another major tournament. They are currently ranked 60th in the FIFA World Rankings.

Moldova
Head coach: Alexandru Spiridon
Captain: Alexandru Epureanu

Moldova has never qualified for a World Cup or the Euro Cup in their history. They played in the League D of the UEFA Nations League and only finished 3rd in their group and failed to get promotion. They won 2 out of their 6 matches in the tournament. They are currently ranked 170th in the FIFA World Rankings.

Andorra
Head coach: Koldo Álvarez
Captain: Ildefons Lima

Andorra has also never played in the Euro Cup or the World Cup in their history. Their captain Lima is the most capped player and the top scorer for their national team. They played in the UEFA Nations League in League D, where they finished last in their group having won no matches out of six. They are currently ranked 133rd in the FIFA World Rankings.
