Who will finish in the 2020/21 Premier League top 4?

The top 4 race in the Premier League has always been an exciting one with UEFA Champions League qualification the reward. This season saw Liverpool run away with the title during the disruption in the year caused by the Coronavirus pandemic. Manchester City also finished in the top 4, however, they will not compete in any UEFA competition next season as they have received a ban for breaching financial fair play rules.

Liverpool fans won’t hope to finish top 4 next season, they’ll expect to. After being so dominant in the 2019/20 campaign they’ll have their sights set on the title, rather than a top 4 finish. Jürgen Klopp has one of the best front lines in the world in Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah who can scare even the best defenders in world football.

Although Manchester City have no European football to use as an incentive to finish in the top 4 next season, they’ll want to fight Liverpool for the title. Manchester City won the title in both the 2017/18 and the 2018/19 seasons and will be desperate to reclaim their throne at the top of English football. Pep Guardiola has arguably the best squad in world football with the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Sergio Agüero and Aymeric Laporte making up the starting XI regularly.

Chelsea are another heavy favourite to finish in the top 4 next season following their impressive summer transfer window which saw Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech join the club. Frank Lampard is a young manager who’s improved over the course of the season, next season, he will hope that his side are ready to challenge for some silverware as he continues to improve week by week.

Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjær will also have high expectations for next season with their midfield finally working with the likes of Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes and Fred all on the pitch at the same time. The club will hope to add some players in the transfer window in order to strengthen their squad.
