Top scorer of League 1 in 2018/19 season

The English Football League 1 is the third-tier in English football league. It was first introduced in the 2004/05 season. 24 teams play in this league and among them, three clubs get promoted to the Championship in the following season. They are replaced by three teams from the Championship that have been relegated. On the other hand, four clubs get relegated to League two and are replaced by four promoted clubs from League 2. It is a very competitive league and currently, seven former Premier League playing clubs are playing in this league as well.

Finishing the season as the top scorer is a very tough thing to do in this league because of its competitiveness. Here are a few players who could finish the season as the top scorer of League 1:

Jack Marriott:
Jack Marriott is player of Peterborough United who finished last season as the top scorer of the league. He joined the club in 2017 from Luton Town and in his first season, he scored 27 goals in the league in only 44 appearances. He is only 23-year old and still has time to reach his full potential. He is again, one of the favorites to win the top scorer award in the 2018/19 season.

Brett Pitman:
Brett Pitman is an experienced forward who plays for Portsmouth. He joined Portsmouth from Ipswich Town in 2017. In his first season at Portsmouth, he managed to score 24 goals and became the second top scorer of the league. He could fire-up once again in the upcoming season and become the top scorer.

Tom Eaves:
Tom Eaves is a player of Gillingham. He joined the club in 2017 and scored 17 goals in the league in his first season. He has a goal in every 173 minutes he played last season and is expected to keep his form in the upcoming season. He could also end up as the top scorer in 2018/19 League 1.

Kieffer Moore:
The 25-year old player of Barnsley is a good forward who can score goals. He is a player who didn’t play up to his level last season but could fire up in the 2018/19 season of the League 1.

Lyle Taylor:
The player only joined Charlton from AFC Wimbledon in this transfer window. He is a good goal-scorer and could play a vital part for Charlton in the upcoming season. He has a very good chance to be the top scorer of League 1 in 2018/19.

Billy Kee:
The striker of Accrington Stanley was the joint-top scorer of League 2 last season. In the upcoming season, he could do the same again after their promotion to the League 1.

Tom Bradshaw:
Tom Bradshaw is a Barnsley striker who scored 12 goals last season in the Championship. He is highly expected to leave the club in this transfer window but if he stays, he has a chance to become the top scorer of League 1 in the upcoming season.
