Final in Africa Cup of Nations 2019
After 29 years Algeria returns to the finals of the continental championship. Algeria and Senegal will play in the final of the African Nations Cup on Friday, July 19. Senegal beat Tunisia 1: 0 in the first semi-final, while Algeria won 2-1 against Nigeria. The Algeria’s hero is Manchester City player Mehrez R., who scored amazing goal in the 95th minute from a free-kick for victory. Algeria led from the 40th minute with the goal scored William Troost-Ekong, and it with was the half time result. Odion Ighalo equalized from the penalty in 72 minutes, and when it seemed that the match would go into extra time, Mahrez scored in the 95th minute. This is first final for Algeria since 1990, when they won the only title on home soil. Once they were second and twice they were third and fourth.
Earlier on Sunday, in the first semifinal of the final tournament in Egypt, Senegalians reached the first final in history by a clumsy own goal by Dylan Bronn in the 100th minute of extra time, which was "aided" by goalkeeper Mouez Hassen. He failed to tamper with a sharp center, and he "assisted" him for the Senegal’s first final.
For Senegal this is the second entry into the finals of the African Championship, but they are still waiting for the first title. 17 years ago they lost the final duel against Cameroon after the penalty shooting.
