Next Manager of Derby County
Derby County is an English club with a great history but the club has been stuck in the Championship since 2008. They have been trying to get promoted to the Premier League since then and they came quite close a few times. They played in the playoffs three times in the previous five seasons and did not succeed to get the promotion to Premier League. Last season, the Rams finished 6th on the table under Gary Rowett. They qualified for the playoffs but failed to get promoted again. After the end of last season, Rowett requested permission to talk to Stoke City about their vacant manager's position. He later joined Stoke City as the manager. The club started looking for a new manager and decided to go with one of the biggest legends of the Premier League Frank Lampard. Lampard joined the club as the manager with no previous experience in management.
Lampard seemed very confident after being named the Derby boss. He even had a good start to the season as the club has won four out of their first six games and sits 4th on the table. The club could go on to get their desired promotion by the end of the season. But with the expectation of the club being so high, if they fail to get promotion then Frank Lampard could get replaced by someone else. The managers who could replace him as the next manager of Derby County are-
Current Club: Brentford
Dean Smith finished last season in 9th place at Brentford. But his team was "widely regarded as the Championship's entertainers" after he built an attracting passing style of play on a shoestring budget. Which is why he was one of the top favorites to replace Gary Rowett at Derby before the season started. But the club went with Frank Lampard at the end and Dean Smith remained at Brentford. But he could be a potential replacement for Frank Lampard at Derby.
Previous Club: Swansea City
Carlos Carvahal was at Swansea City where he saw his club getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season. He has previous experience managing Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship. He is currently not managing any other club and could still be available if Derby wants to replace Frank Lampard as their manager.
Previous Team: Ipswich Town
Mick McCarthy managed Ipswich Town for five and a half years before leaving the club on April 2018. He managed Wolves for almost six years before that. Mick even has the experience of managing the Republic Of Ireland National Team. McCarthy won the Championship with Sunderland in 2005 and Wolves in 2009. He is a potential replacement for Frank Lampard if the Derby County board decides to hire a new manager.
