Liam Rosenior – Hull City

The English second division Hull City has officially introduced the new head of coaching staff - Liam Rosenior. The contract was signed for two and a half years. Hull will be Rosenior's first professional club to manage as a manager, although he previously managed Derby County following the departure of Wayne Rooney as caretaker manager. He started his coaching career in Brighton and Hove Albion where he finished his career as player. He was appointed as assistant manager in U 23 team. In 2019 he joined Debry County as member of coaching stuff of Phillip Cocu. Later, when Wayne Rooney took over the club, Rosenior was appointed as assistant manager,

He was sacked at the end of September after Paul Warney became Derby manager. Until then, he managed to record 7 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses in 12 matches.

By the way, Liam is a Hull legend since he played for them for five seasons (161 matches.) Rosenior played in 144 league matches for the Tigers between 2010 and 2015 and won promotion to the Premier League in 2013, and also reached the FA Cup final the following year. As the club stated he was one of the most important parts of the team that got promoted to the Premier League.

He couldn’t hide the emotions and joy he felt when he was giving his first interview as Hull City manager:

“It's well documented about my passion to become a manager. I had a feeling I would be back,

My family is so pleased [the fans] sing the song “his nan is from Hull”. It's a really nice feeling because it's a year ago this month that she passed away. I was in Cottingham Cemetery just five minutes from here and she was in the crematorium with a Hull shirt so that's what it means to my family. That gives me so much pride and motivation to do her proud in terms of where this club can go. I'm fully motivated and excited to get going.  I told my mum and she started crying. I think my nan would be really tearful and hopefully she's up there smiling down because I know it was a big dream of hers to see me in that dugout and hopefully, I can do her proud.”

This role as manager isn’t strange to his family as his father also was football player and manager and we can say that they both got impressive careers in English football but the son has more promising start of his career as a manager.
