Jonathan Brady – Manager Northampton Town
Jonathan Brady is the current manager of the English team Northampton Town and a former player from Australia. In a career lasting 17 years, he was a seasoned player who had made over 600 appearances.
Brady joined Brentford in 1991 but was not able to make even a single appearance for the first team. He spent some time in Norway after failing to make Wycombe Wanderers' first team, and then he transferred to Hayes. He joined Rushden & Diamonds in the summer of 1998 where played 188 games for the in all competitions, scoring 20 goals.
In 2000–01, Brady won the Football Conference with Rushden & Diamonds, and on the final day of the season, he scored the game-winning goal for promotion at his future club Chester City.
He briefly played for Woking before moving on to Chester City, where he once more experienced play-off heartbreak as Doncaster Rovers defeated him in the semi-finals of the inaugural Football Conference play-offs. He was released from his contract with Chester during their 2003–04 title-winning season so he could join the Arsenal coaching staff, although he immediately started playing again with Stevenage Borough.
After that, Brady joined Hereford United after the 2005 Conference play-off final loss to Carlisle United. Following his loan with Kidderminster Harriers in March 2007, he joined Cambridge United. In June 2007, he signed for Conference North team Kettering Town.
Brady became the Brackley Town manager in March 2009 but left his position as manager in September 2015.
He began working for Northampton Town in 2016 as the U16 coach before being elevated to the U18 coach the following year.
Keith Curle was fired on February 10, 2021, and Brady was given temporary leadership of the first team. Brady was confirmed as the head coach of the first team till the end of the season on March 4. Northampton were beaten 3-0 by Blackpool in the season's final match, relegating them to League Two. Brady was nonetheless appointed permanent manager in May 2021 despite the relegation. Chairman Kelvin Thomas noted, "Jon has pleased us with his work since accepting caretaker responsibility. All the statistics with the teams Jon inherited have shown improvement."
