Werder Bremen next manager after Florian Kohfeldt
Florian Kohfeldt - The eternal Bremer
Born in 1982 in Siegen, Germany, Florian Kohfeldt is still a very young coach. He was trained with the youth team of TV Jahn Delmenhorst. His position here was the goalkeeper. His youth training ended in 2001, when Kohfeldt started his football career at SV Werder Bremen. Here, however, he only played for the third team, for which he scored for eight years. According to his own statement, his performance was not sufficient for a professional career as a goalkeeper, which is why he also studied sports and health sciences.
He completed his studies in 2013 and finished his training as a football coach in 2015. While he was still playing for the third team, Kohfeldt was already training the youth of SV Werder Bremen. He then held the post of co-coach for the first team from 2014 to 2016, followed by his first assignment as head coach of the second team, which lasted one year.
In 2017, the former central defender took over the first team. He first replaced the dismissed Alexander Nouri as interim trainer, but was then allowed to continue leading the training. His performance with Bremen is quite solid and so the team, which was once threatened with relegation, has always been in the stable midfield of the Bundesliga since Kohfeldt took office at the end of the season. The graduate sports scientist is thus the only coach of the German Bundesliga who, after his youth, was under contract with only one club.
